The Stone

The heart cut moissanite features a brilliant faceting pattern, chosen to reflect light with depth and movement while preserving the softness of the heart shape. The facets create clarity and dimension, allowing the stone to respond beautifully to light rather than appearing flat.

The Setting

Each stone is secured in a three prong blackened rhodium setting over sterling silver, designed to define the contours of the heart without interrupting its natural symmetry. The dark outline gives structure and contrast, much like the lead lines of stained glass, allowing light to refract through the facets with clarity and precision. An open-back setting allows light to pass through the stone, enhancing brilliance from every angle while keeping the design feeling light and modern.

The Form

The heart charm is suspended from a polished huggie hoop, finished in 18k gold vermeil or rhodium plated sterling silver, depending on the variant. Designed to sit comfortably on the ear, the huggie allows gentle movement while remaining refined enough for everyday wear. On the reverse, each earring is finished with a discreet K&S engraving, a subtle mark of craftsmanship and intention.

Available in 18k gold vermeil or 18k rhodium plated sterling silver.

*please note all base metals are sterling silver

925 Sterling Silver

Each piece is crafted on a 925 sterling silver base, composed of 92.5% pure silver alloyed for strength and longevity. Valued for its weight, durability, and refined finish, sterling silver provides an exceptional foundation for precise stone setting and fine craftsmanship. It bonds seamlessly with gold and rhodium finishes, allowing pieces to be polished, replated, and restored over time. Chosen for its balance of beauty and resilience, sterling silver offers the structure and permanence associated with fine jewellery.

18k Gold Vermeil

The yellow gold finish is 18k gold vermeil, containing 75% pure gold alloyed for durability. Applied over sterling silver, this higher-purity gold delivers a rich, warm tone with depth and softness, avoiding the overly bright appearance of lower-grade finishes. Gold vermeil offers a more substantial and enduring finish than standard gold plating, creating a luminous surface that wears beautifully over time.

Rhodium Plating

The silver finish is rhodium plated sterling silver, selected for its crisp, reflective appearance and enhanced resistance to tarnish. The heart setting is finished in blackened rhodium plating, adding contrast and dimension while maintaining a clean, modern profile. All rhodium finishes are applied over sterling silver to ensure consistency, durability, and refinement.

Moissanite

Set with heart-cut moissanite, chosen for its exceptional brilliance and fire. Composed of silicon carbide, moissanite is highly durable and well suited to everyday wear. Ethically created for modern fine jewellery, it retains its clarity and sparkle over time, offering lasting beauty with a contemporary sensibility.

FAQs

Moissanite is a rare gemstone made from silicon carbide, first discovered in a meteor crater in Arizona in 1893. Because natural moissanite is so scarce, all gemstones used in fine jewellery today are grown in laboratories that recreate the same natural crystal structure.

It ranks 9.25 on the Mohs scale, just below diamond at 10, and has a higher refractive index, giving it remarkable brilliance and fire. Unlike cubic zirconia, moissanite will not cloud or scratch over time and retains its clarity indefinitely.

Even experts often need specialised tools to tell moissanite and diamond apart, especially in smaller stones. It offers the same lasting beauty and durability as a diamond, without the inflated pricing or environmental impact of mined stones.

No. While some moissanite is sold with certificates, GIA does not officially recognise or grade moissanite, so these documents do not carry the same meaning as they do for diamonds. We prefer to be transparent and do not include them.

We recommend removing your jewellery before showering. Water, soap, and shampoo can build up around stones and settings, which may dull finishes and reduce sparkle over time. This applies even to fine jewellery, and many jewellers recommend removing engagement rings before showering for the same reason.

Our pieces are crafted on a sterling silver base and finished in 18k gold plating, 18k gold vermeil, or rhodium, depending on the design. These finishes are chosen for their refined appearance and ability to support precise stone setting. Materials such as stainless steel are often marketed as shower safe, but they are used because they prioritise corrosion resistance over craftsmanship. Stainless steel lacks the weight, softness, and workability required for fine jewellery and detailed settings.

To preserve the finish and maintain the beauty of your jewellery, we recommend removing it before showering, swimming, or applying personal care products.

Structure: A piece should feel balanced, strong, and refined. Our settings are crafted with precision so each stone sits securely and evenly, ensuring long-term durability and visual harmony.

Material: We use solid sterling silver with a thick 18k gold plating. Sterling silver allows for fine detailing and secure settings, while the gold finish gives each piece a rich, lasting lustre without the cost of solid gold.

Gem quality: Every moissanite we use is pure, uncoated, and cut for maximum brilliance and fire. Lower-cost alternatives often use coated stones that dull over time.

Transparency: Many brands rely on low-cost base metals and high markups. We choose premium materials and fair pricing so you’re investing in craftsmanship and lasting beauty, not inflated margins.

Sterling silver is a precious metal, chosen for its ability to support fine craftsmanship. It allows for detailed shaping, smooth polishing, and secure stone setting, and it bonds evenly with gold finishes. This means pieces can be replated, restored, and maintained over time, extending their life and wearability.

Materials such as stainless steel and PVD coated metals are harder but far less workable. They are difficult to shape into refined forms or fine prongs, and once a coating wears through, it cannot be repaired or refinished. Gold filled jewellery contains more gold than standard plating, but it is bonded to a base metal such as brass, which limits how finely it can be crafted and may expose the core metal at edges or points of wear.

Sterling silver continues to be used in fine jewellery because it balances beauty, durability, and long term value. As a precious metal, it has retained and grown its worth over time, unlike base metals, which are selected primarily for cost or corrosion resistance rather than craftsmanship. This is why sterling silver remains the preferred foundation for jewellery designed to be worn, cared for, and kept.
